Weekend Recap - Part 1

Missed out on some BFF posts this week? It's okay (we forgive you). We've taken some time out and created for you lovely people a 2 part weekend recap! Fasten your seat belts because here we go :

On Monday, we were in the New York spirit and decided to make our Music Monday choice Jay-Z & Alicia Key's "Empire State of Mind." If you haven't heard it, you have been living in a cave!! you better do so now as the song is HOT HOT HOT! So HOT that the Yankees - World Champs Baby! - decided to make that their anthem during the world series!

Tuesday was your day to get your life questions answered by our friend from Teen Diaries, Nicole. You all wanted to know how to deal with a bully without getting into an argument or fight, or how to avoid a fight all together and she gave you some pretty good advice -- lay low! Unless they steal your BFF's milk money, then it's time to ... *cracks knuckles* -- HAHA we're just joking! Bullies usually pick on people for attention, so the least attention you give them, the better!

Music Monday

For all you New Yorkers out there, today's Music Monday is dedicated to Hip-Hop Jay-z's hit "Empire State of Mind" which features the talented Alicia Keys. The song combines elements of Hip-Hop with a Frank Sinatra twist, making the song all about New York pride. This song is such a hit that not only has it been #1 on the Top 100 for weeks but it also was the NY Yankees national anthem during the World Series! Jay-Z and Alicia Keys not only got to perform this song during one of the games but also during the Yankee parade as well! We here at BFF think it's safe to say that "Empire State of Mind" has become this generations' New York national anthem!

Celebrity Wednesday!

Here on BFF we celebrate everything that ties Best Friends, and what couldn’t be better than showcasing every week, our favorite celeb BFFs! Celebrities are constantly in the limelight and it’s obvious that they need that one person they can lean on, which brings us to this week’s favorite pair of Celeb BFFS:

Jay-Z & Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith

Wait … what? Ty Ty? WHO IS TY TY?

If you’re a Jay-Z fan then you’ve heard of Ty Ty before. Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith has become a household name in hip-hop by being the best buddy of rapper Jay-Z. No Ty Ty isn’t a rapper, but Mr. Carter has been shouting out praise for Ty Ty since his Reasonable Doubt album. In honor of these 2 best buds, we’ve decided to showcase some of the lyrical references Jay makes to his BFF:
